High-specification air conditioning for critical healthcare environments
At the General Panarcadian Hospital in Tripoli, an HVAC and ventilation project was implemented for the Intensive Care Unit, featuring the installation of a central AERMEC Air Handling Unit, type NCD2A, with an air flow rate of 2,500 m³/h. The system was designed to fully meet the stringent requirements of high-criticality healthcare spaces, ensuring stable and precisely controlled operating conditions.
The air handling unit is equipped with special internal treatment suitable for healthcare facilities, a ROUND AROUND COIL heat exchanger, and a sterilization system with UV-C lamps. With these features, both the air handling unit and the ICU are certified as COVID-FREE.
Additional features include EC-FAN variable-speed fans, supply and exhaust sound attenuators, and an externally installed steam humidifier, ensuring the required temperature and humidity conditions within the ICU space. Precise temperature control in the conditioned area is achieved using AERMEC TSB reheating coils.
The central air handling unit was fully integrated into the hospital’s existing BMS, while also being equipped with a remote monitoring system, enhancing reliability, safety, and immediate technical supervision of the installation.
