HVAC System Upgrade in Corfu

At the four-star Louis Grand Hotel, located in the Glyfada area of Corfu, a HVAC system upgrade was implemented with the installation of two AERMEC air-cooled chiller units, aiming to improve the energy efficiency and operational reliability of the facility.

Specifically, two AERMEC NS 1802 XDEV chillers were installed, with a total installed capacity of 740 kW. The units are characterized by high performance and low noise levels, fully meeting the increased air conditioning demands of the hotel. Each unit is equipped with an integrated desuperheater, enabling heat recovery to supplement the existing conventional LPG boiler system for domestic hot water production.

The chillers feature dual refrigeration circuits, screw compressors, and electronic expansion valves, ensuring operational flexibility, enhanced reliability, and optimized performance under partial load conditions. In addition, copper–aluminum heat exchangers with anti-corrosion epoxy coating provide increased resistance to the demanding marine environment of the area.

The system’s overall energy efficiency is confirmed by its high instantaneous and seasonal performance indicators, with EER 2.77 and SEER 4.07, contributing significantly to reduced energy consumption and improved operating costs for the hotel.

The project at Louis Grand Hotel represents a successful example of HVAC retrofit in an existing hospitality facility, emphasizing energy efficiency, reliability, and long-term sustainability.
